The Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Burditt as chair of the board. With a distinguished career in both corporate leadership and executive coaching, Peter brings a wealth of experience to the role and had an important part in launching AoEC and as a NED at the beginning.

Peter’s professional background includes over 27 years of business coaching at senior levels, alongside extensive expertise in strategy, leadership development, and organisational transformation. His work with high-level executives and organisations across various sectors has earned him recognition as a leading coach in the field.

John Leary-Joyce, founder and CEO of the AoEC, welcomed Peter’s appointment: "We are thrilled to have Peter back in this pivotal role. His depth of knowledge and history with the AoEC make him an ideal choice to guide us as we continue to grow and innovate in coach training and development. His commitment to advancing the quality and impact of coaching is invaluable."

Peter expressed his enthusiasm for the role: "It was a great honour and privilege to be asked by John and the other NEDS to take up the position of chair. I was an early pioneer in executive coaching in the mid-90s when I met John at the London Gestalt Centre and the idea of AoEC was conceived; I stayed on the board for 10 years and was also on the faculty in those early years. From these modest beginnings, it is with great pride that I have seen the AoEC become the leading worldwide brand in coach training and development.

He added: "I now sit on various corporate coach cadres and observe that selectors of coaches recognise the high quality of AoEC-trained coaches. I hope that in the three years of my tenure as chair, I can contribute further to the growth and reputation of the AoEC in the service of its graduates, staff and faculty, as well as the organisations that will benefit from the wise guidance of our coaches.”

Peter’s appointment represents an exciting chapter in the AoEC’s journey as a global leader in coach training and development. Peter is well-placed to lead the board through a period of continued growth and innovation. His leadership is set to further strengthen the AoEC’s reputation for excellence, ensuring its graduates, faculty and the organisations they support continue to thrive in an ever-evolving landscape.
